Post-Civil War African-American settlers to be celebrated

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — To celebrate Black History Month, Friends of the Stones River National Battlefield will help tell the stories of African Americans who settled in Rutherford County after the Civil War.

The African-American Heritage Society of Rutherford County has joined with Stones River to provide a family-friendly day of music, presentations and history on Saturday morning.

Performers include Albert Richardson, William Verge, Darryl L. Chaney & Christ Fellowship Chorale and The Bingham Sisters.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Stones River National Battlefield in Rutherford County.
