NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Before Belmont’s final home game of the season, News 2’s Dawn Davenport challenged one of its graduating seniors to a 3-point shootout.
Ridgetop native Craig Bradshaw and Dawn each had 30 seconds to sink as many 3-pointers as they could.
Head coach Rick Byrd was on hand to give Dawn a few tips.
“Kind of stepping with the wrong foot a little bit, but she made some shots. I was impressed,” said Byrd.
Bradshaw took it easy on Dawn and ended up winning the shootout with five shots to Dawn’s three.
Bradshaw said he doesn’t know how it will feel to play in his final college game but admits some tears may fall.
“I’m a crier, I did in high school and I definitely cried there and I don’t know how it’s going to be here,” said Bradshaw. “It’s a little different, but it’s going to be sad. I’m going to miss all of these guys next year and Coach Byrd.”
Belmont takes on Tennessee Tech Saturday at the Curb Event Center. The game begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children.
