NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Tuesday marks the final day of voting on new messages for the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s electronic interstate boards.
The department received over 3,000 entries and has narrowed them down two just 15 for the public to vote on their favorites.
The entries cover safety issues such as distracted driving, seatbelt usage, impaired driving, speeding, and aggressive driving.
The winning messages will be placed in rotation to run on the overhead electronic signs throughout the state.
Some of the entries were modified slightly to fit guidelines for the signs and include messages like, “Bob doesn’t speed – Be like Bob,” and “Get the cell off your phone and drive.”
