LIBERTY, TENN. (WKRN) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation are searching for a gunman who held up a bank in Liberty.
Sheriff Patrick Ray said the man ran into Liberty State Bank shortly after 8 a.m. and approached a female teller while displaying a weapon.
The teller complied with the suspects demands and the gunman fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robbery suspect appeared to be a white male, 5 foot 6 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and face mask.
A witness to the crime called authorities at 8:07 a.m., according to authorities. A deputy arrived within five minutes of the initial call and Alexandria police also responded to assist.
The case is under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI.
