MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Fire crews extinguished a fire at a Rutherford County apartment complex Friday night.

It happened at the Fairview Apartments on Fairview Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

Officials with the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue said flames were shooting through the roof when crews arrived.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

“The fire seemed to have started in the attic section of Apartment 6,” said Fire Marshal Carl Peas.

No one was inside the apartment at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the fire to be accidental and a security light could have been the cause, according to Peas.
