NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two road crew workers were injured Saturday afternoon after the scaffolding they were working on an interstate overpass was struck by a tractor-trailer.
The scaffolding was attached to an overpass at the I-440 / I-65 interchange in Nashville.
The top of the semi-truck collided with the bottom of the scaffolding, causing the scaffolding to partially detach from the overpass.
According to Sergeant Travis Plotzer with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, one of the construction workers fell from the scaffolding.
Both of the injured workers were transported to an area hospital.
The top of the semi truck was peeled off in the collision.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
