KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A game-high 36 points from Kevin Punter helped Tennessee top #24 South Carolina 78-69 in Knoxville Saturday.
The senior guard was simply amazing for the Vols scoring 27 points in the second half, when he shot five of six from three-point range and was a perfect 12 of 12 from the free throw line.
Punter wasn’t the only Vol who had a good day from the charity stripe, as a unit they were 30 of 32.
Tennessee who is 3-4 in the SEC made it’s first seven three-point attempts of the second half and the Gamecocks defense had no answer.
Saturday’s loss was only the second defeat South Carolina has seen all season. They are now 17-2, while the Vols improve to 10-9.
