NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A wintery mix on the roadways Wednesday morning is causing hazardous conditions and traffic issues throughout Middle Tennessee.
Crashes were reported on I-24, I-40, and I-65 throughout the morning.
Rutherford County officials reported about 40 crashes since 4:50 a.m.
Sheriff Robert Arnold said sheriff’s deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers worked crashes on Interstate 24 toward Nashville, Interstate 840 and Holly Grove Road.
A Lipman Brothers truck carrying beer and liquor ran off the side of I-24 east just east of Almaville before 840. No one was injured.
Patrol Lt. Rhett Rankin said civil warrants deputies were helping clear crashes along with assigned patrol deputies.
“People are driving like it’s sunny and 85 mph,” Lt. Rankin said.
