NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) In what you might call a “must win” for Vanderbilt looked too easy Wednesday night as the Dores beat the Vols 88-74 at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Tennessee was led by Kevin Punter with 26 points, but it wasn’t nearly enough as the game was over in the first half after Vanderbilt went on an 8-0 to lead by 14 points and never looked back.
The Commodores finished the first half with 10 three pointers and a 21 point lead at halftime.
Cameron Justice had 12 points off the bench, hitting 4 of 7 from downtown while sparking the big run, and Wade Baldwin finished with 25 points, nailing the final triple of the half.
Matthew Fisher-Davis who had 5 three’s in the first half finished the game 6-11 from distance and a team high 18 points.
After starting 0-3 in SEC play, Vanderbilt is back to .500 at 3-3 while Tennessee drops to 2-4.
