Woman found dead inside car at Madison body shop

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 69-year-old homeless woman was found dead inside a car in Madison early Monday morning.

Police told News 2 the woman’s body was found at a mechanic shop where multiple vehicles were parked near the intersection of Brawner Avenue and Hickory Street, off South Gallatin Pike, around 4 a.m.

According to a release, Alyce Sanders was sleeping in the backseat of the car, while a 58-year-old man, who is also homeless, slept in the front seat.

The man told police he became concerned when he did not hear Sanders breathing. He called police from a nearby business after he tried to wake her up but she did not respond.

Police said there was no evidence of foul play at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine Sanders’ cause of death.
