NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – It’s something tourists dream about when they visit Nashville: seeing a real country music star.
And on Monday, that wish came true for unsuspecting fans on the streets of Lower Broad when Brett Eldredge handed out flowers.
Over the past few years, he’s become a country music super star.
“I’m not sponsored by anything. I’m just doing it to make people feel good,” Eldredge told News 2.
He spent the morning handing out flowers to random people walking down the street.
“There ya go,” he said to one fan.
While some didn’t recognize the country singer, others knew him immediately.
“We love country music and when you come from a small town in New Jersey up north, you don’t get to see a lot of country people, so to come meet somebody here it’s awesome,” one fan told News 2.
Eldredge said he came up with the “flower bomb” idea while shooting his music video to “Drunk In Your Love” in Charleston, South Carolina.
The video of him handing out flowers there went viral, so he decided to do it again in Music City.
“I’m trying to spread the word of happiness and love, and that’s it,” Eldredge explained.
He said when he shot the video, he always had a dream of doing this, passing out flowers.
“I just had to do a simple act of kindness and just hand people flowers in the street, so I was shooting my video for ‘Drunk In Your Love’ and I said, ‘Let’s go a day early and hand out flowers in the street,’” Eldredge said.
And it’s safe to say fans didn’t mind one bit.
“I can’t wait to get back home and frame this little baby and put it on my wall,” one fan sad.”
In all, Eldredge had four baskets full of flowers to hand out. He stayed on Lower Broad until all of them had been given away.
