NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Nashville woman will serve one year of her 8-year sentence in a deadly wrong-way crash that happened about a year ago.

Delois Beasley was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication and vehicle assault after the Jan. 11 crash that killed Michael Campbell.

Campbell was driving a Corvette when Beasley was driving the wrong way on Interstate 65, ultimately hitting him head-on. She was drunk and told police she thought she was the one hit by a wrong way driver.

On Friday during her sentencing hearing, Beasley was given 8 years for the vehicular homicide charge and 2 years for vehicular assault.

Judge Monte Watkins ruled she will serve one year in prison due to the fact that she has no priors.

Campbell leaves behind a wife and three children. His friend Terry Anderson was injured in the crash.
