Suspects identified in grocery store robberies that spans 3 states

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities have identified the people they say are involved grocery store robberies in at least three states.

Monray Vontez Johnson and Christie Spears Bates, along with another person who is currently jailed, were all identified during a joint investigation between the Smyrna, Nashville and Franklin police departments.

According to a release, Johnson confessed to robberies committed in Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama and attempted robberies in Georgia.

Police also said Spears Bates was the driver of a getaway vehicle for all of the robberies.

Their charges were not immediately released.

Police have also identified another man allegedly involved in a Smyrna Publix robbery last month.

He has not been taken into custody and his identity was not released.
