NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Nashville woman celebrated her 104th birthday on Wednesday.
Violet Nicholas celebrated her special day with a party at her longtime Nashville home with family members.
“Today is a special day,” her daughter Gertrude Brooks said. “We are just happy that she’s able to be with us. She has been just a wonderful mom.”
Daughter Dr. Allison Metz told News 2 family and friends help keep her mother going.
“She still recognizes people after they give her a little hint,” she said. “She is just a phenomenal woman. A lot has happened over her 104 years. She has guided us with examples, sayings and examples of wisdom. She’s just wonderful.”
Violet came to the United States from Jamaica in 1949 to be with her father who was here attending medical school.
