SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The search continues for suspects accused of choking and robbing a woman who was just trying to do the right thing.
Sumner County deputies are calling it a desperate act.
It all began a few nights before Christmas around 2:30 a.m. on Highway 76. It was dark and foggy.
A 23-year-old college student was coming home when she encountered a car on the side of the road.
A man was in the middle of the road, stopping her, forcing her to pull over.
The woman, who didn’t want to be identified, told News 2 the man and a woman were pretending their car was broken down in order to rob her.
She said it’s changed the way she’ll behave in the future and how she views the world.
The man is white and in his early 40s with scruffy hair. He was about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.
The woman was also white with gray hair that had blonde tips. She’s also in her 40s with a petite build.
Their car was possibly a white Oldsmobile or Buick Century, likely an older model.
