MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Murfreesboro mother woke up New Year’s Eve to find her 4-month-old baby was not breathing.
When first responders arrived to the Southeast Broad Street home on Thursday, the mother was already performing CPR.
Emergency personnel took over and the baby was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the baby died a short time later.
Police told News 2 the mother arrived home around 4 a.m. from work and fed the baby around 6 a.m.
She said she then put the baby in bed with her and laid the infant on its back. But when she woke up, the baby was on its stomach and not breathing.
There’s no word yet on the exact cause of death. Further details have yet to be released.
