Franklin police, FBI investigate ‘violent’ armed bank robbery

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – An investigation is underway after what authorities are calling a “violent” bank robbery in Franklin on Wednesday.

Franklin police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the robbery which occurred at 9:09 a.m. at the SunTrust Bank at 1109 Murfreesboro Road.

Authorities said the suspect walked inside and approached the counter, announcing the robbery.

The suspect was wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun. He left with cash after the tellers complied with his demands, and no one was hurt.

Detectives are working with witnesses who saw the suspect before he pulled the mask over his face, and believe the TBI composite sketch to be a good likeness of the suspect.
