CROSSPLAINS, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 72-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 65 South in Crossplains, Tennessee, on Wednesday.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports a passerby stopped and attempted to save Leo Hamilton’s life with CPR until emergency personnel arrived.
Unfortunately, the efforts were unsuccessful and Hamilton was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.
THP reported he was driving in the left lane when he merged to the right an applied his breaks.
Tire tracks were made in the center of the right lane and the motorcycle laid sideways shortly after, leaving scratches in the roadway.
According to THP, Hamilton’s motorcycle came to a “final, uncontrolled stop” in the guardrail on the right shoulder. His body continued travelling another 50 feet from the bike.
That’s when a passerby attempted to save Hamilton until first responders arrived but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
