NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 16-year-old has been charged with armed robbery in connection to two west Nashville crimes.
The teen is being held in juvenile detention on two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of unlawful handgun possession, one count of car theft, and one count of evading arrest.
He was taken into custody at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday after he fled into a wood line near Panorama Drive and Snell Boulevard.
Authorities are still seeking three accomplices.
The robbery spree began at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, when a woman was carjacked as she was leaving her Massman Avenue apartment complex.
Later at 7:58 p.m., four robbers robbed the Baskin-Robbins store and fled in the Altima. At least two of the suspects were armed with pistols.
At 8:15 p.m., three suspects robbed Laverte’s Market on 51st Avenue North.
One of the robbers fired his gun into a cooler and ordered the employees to the ground before the group fled in the white Altima.
Officers located the car at the intersection of Briarwick Drive and Viking Drive.
As they approached, four individuals ran from the vehicle into Bordeaux Garden Park.
Officers were able to find them crouching behind a bench before they started running again.
The 16-year-old was finally apprehended in the wood line. He matched the description as one of the individuals involved in both robberies.
