NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 69-year-old man died after he was hit by a car Friday on Rosa L. Parks Boulevard at Garfield Street.
According to police, Fred Idlebird was crossing the road shortly after 5 p.m. when he was struck by a northbound Kia SUV.
Authorities said there was no indication of alcohol or drug involvement.
They say Idlebird was wearing dark clothing and, although he was in a crosswalk, he likely entered the street against a “don’t walk” pedestrian signal.
No charges have been placed against the driver at this time.
