Woman wanted for stealing money, assaulting customer at Hermitage Waffle House

HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are searching for a woman who grabbed money from the register of a Hermitage Waffle House early Wednesday morning.

It happened at the Old Hickory Boulevard location, just off Interstate 40, around 1 a.m.

Police told News 2 the woman came in to the restaurant and ordered hashbrowns before she went to the restroom.

When she exited, she reportedly jumped the counter, grabbed money out of the register and ran out the door.

Police reported a customer tried to stop the suspect as she was fleeing and she elbowed him in the face. Paramedics examined the customer and he is expected to be OK.

The suspect was last seen running toward the hotels located behind the restaurant.

No suspect description was immediately released.
