FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man wanted by Franklin police in a shooting that left a woman injured surrendered himself to authorities Wednesday.

Devonta Haynes, 22, was wanted on charges of reckless endangerment as authorities believe the shooting was accidental.

It happened Saturday, Nov. 28 when police say Haynes was seated behind the driver of a car when she was shot in the back.

The woman was driven by a witness to the emergency room and Haynes jumped out of the car.

Haynes told police he tossed the gun into a grassy area, but police were unable to locate it.

Haynes was charged with reckless endangerment and was released from Williamson County Jail on a $1,250 bond. He is due in court on December 17.
