MADISON, Tenn. (WKRN) – Multiple engines responded to a fire at the RiverGate Outback Steakhouse early Wednesday morning.
It happened at the restaurant located on North Gallatin Pike around 3:30 a.m.
The fire triggered a security alarm, causing authorities to respond to the restaurant.
Officials said the fire began in the kitchen area. Smoke was seen billowing from the roof of the restaurant, where the fire was mostly contained.
The restaurant could be closed for up to a month, according to the fire chief.
Employees will be able to pick up shifts at four other Outback restaurants in the area.
Officials said the restaurant is working with local organizations to explore opportunities for groups of employees to volunteer in the community while being paid.
No one was inside the restaurant and no firefighters were injured.
