Convicted sex offender accused of raping wheelchair-bound woman

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A convicted sex offender has been charged after police say he raped a wheelchair-bound woman Monday night.

According to authorities, the 60-year-old woman came into contact with Reginald Gregory as she traveled home to her Madison apartment on an MTA bus.

The victim reported Gregory agreed to help her down the street to her home since she had groceries.

According to the woman, once she and Gregory got to the doorway of her apartment, the 50-year-old man allegedly dumped her out of her wheelchair and choked her with both hands.

The woman stated that Gregory then carried her to a bedroom where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The victim called police to report the assault after Gregory left around 8:30 p.m.

Gregory was taken into custody a short time later after he was located in a parking lot on South Gallatin Pike.

He faces charges of aggravated rape with a bond of $250,000
