Detective Syreeta Teel began testifying for the state Thursday afternoon. The trial resumes Friday.

Teel testified she spoke with defendant William Porter in the shock trauma unit of a hospital where Gray was taken after he was found unresponsive in the back of the van. She also spoke with a hospital administrator before returning to West Baltimore to interview witnesses.

Teel was one of eight witnesses called Thursday, the second day of testimony.
