Independence 15-0 with 5A title win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It was the storybook ending that Independence was dreaming of. After going undefeated to the 5A state title game they capped it off with a 49-14 win over Sevier County.

After scoring 28 points in the 1st half, Independence poured it on in the 2nd as Andrew Bunch threw 3 touchdowns finishing the game 20-29 for 313 yards and 5 scores.

The Eagles Nate Johnson coming of a 6 touchdown performance in the semifinals was responsible for two of those touchdowns receptions.

Eagles coach Scott Blade wins his first state championship as the head coach at Independence after only 3 seasons at the helm.
