NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Lipscomb University held its free annual Lighting of the Green outdoor concert and festival Tuesday.
The event has kicked off the holiday season in the Green Hills community for the last 11 years.
Grammy award-winning Amy Grant was the host and this year’s performance featured artists Steven Curtis Chapman, Jon and Valerie Guerra, Odessa Settles and the Settles Connection, 3for3, Arcadian Wild, Corinna Gill, the Lipscomb student choruses and a few other guests.
The concert was held inside Lipscomb’s Allen Arena at 5:30 p.m. The tree lighting began at 7 p.m.
The event also included free photos with Santa Claus, free hot chocolate and cookies, the Merry Marketplace featuring local vendors of holiday gifts and food available for purchase.
Attendees were encouraged to bring a gift of canned food for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
