1 found dead after east Nashville fire damages 3 homes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – One person was found dead as crews responded to a house fire in east Nashville on Tuesday morning.

The fire started around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Street and North Second Street.

Officials told News 2 the fire started at a vacant house and spread to the homes on either side of it. All three homes were damaged.

The victim was identified as 50-year-old Michael Ritenou.

The Nashville Fire Department is at the scene investigating, and the American Red Cross is helping those displaced from the fire.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
