NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Former Vanderbilt star David Price broke the bank Tuesday agreeing to a 7-year, $217-million deal with the Red Sox, according to multiple reports.
Price won 18 games this season splitting time between the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox.
He finished second in the Cy Young voting. He won the Cy Young Award with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2012.
The first pick of the 2007 MLB Draft has a 104-56 career record with a 3.09 earned run average.
Price has become one of the game’s great power pitchers with 1,372 strikeouts in that time.
