LEBANON, Tenn. (WRKN) – A man who resides in a Wilson County senior living facility had a Thanksgiving to remember when he got to meet his favorite author.

Avid reader Glenn Hunter got a surprise visit from Karen Kingsbury at Elmcroft Senior Living in Lebanon on Sunday.

The 89-year-old said he loves everything Kingsbury writes.

During the visit, Brentwood-based Kingsbury presented Hunter with a copy of her latest novel, “The Bridge.”

“The Bridge” has been made into a movie, which will air on the Hallmark Channel later this week.

“In my heart, I always thought, you know, I’d sure like to meet her sometime and I never thought I would. But I appreciate it, honey. I really appreciate it,” said Hunter.

The surprise was set up by a program called Second Wind Dreams, which strives to grant dreams to those living in eldercare communities or in hospice care.
