SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) — The wife of the man police believe raped and killed a 7-year-old girl spoke to News 2 Friday night.
Jodi Madden has been married to Timothy Madden for 10 years and they have two children together.
She told News 2 there is no way he could have committed the crime.
“We know it’s not true. He’s not that kind of person,” said Madden. “He would never put his hands on a little girl and molest her.”
Kentucky State Police believe Timothy Madden raped, sodomized and then strangled 7-year-old Gabbi Doolin at a little league football game.
Madden was there for his son; Doolin was there with her parents to cheer on her brother.
Around 7:45 p.m., Doolin was reported missing. Less than 30 minutes later, she was found in a creek behind the football field.
DNA found at the scene reportedly matched Madden.
On Friday, the same day as Madden’s arrest, Doolin’s dad posted a statement on Facebook without naming names.
It said, “Please justice, take over for my baby. I love her so much. This animal should not be walking and breathing.”
Madden’s family said that post isn’t for him.
“He’s an excellent father and a great husband,” his wife said. “I know he didn’t do it.”
Madden has a hearing scheduled on Monday, Nov. 23.
