NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — With a number 17 ranking and the highest expectations in years, the Vanderbilt Commodores did not buckle under pressure Thursday night winning 79-72 against Stony Brook in overtime.
Down by six with around three minutes remaining in the second half, the Commodores got some clutch shooting to even the game and force overtime.
Wade Baldwin knocked down three of his team high 21 points to cut the lead to three and then Riley LaChance (13 points) nailed one from a distance a minute later to tie it at 62-62.
In overtime, the Commodores went to big man Damian Jones who finished with 13 points to give them a lead they never relinquished.
The Dores went 9-10 at the line in overtime to ice the game and win 79-72 to move to 3-0 on the season.
