NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A portion of Interstate 24 East was closed Monday morning after a semi truck’s cargo caught fire.
It happened at Exit 11 near Sango around 5 a.m.
The truck, which was hauling apples, caught fire after the brakes locked up, according to the driver.
The cab of the semi was destroyed completely and the trailer sustained heavy damage.
The truck had to be off-loaded before it can be removed from the roadway.
The roadway was cleared shortly after 6 a.m.
