NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Siegel High School football player who sustained a severe brain injury last month was able to be without a ventilator for an hour Monday morning.

According to a tweet by his father, Baylor Bramble was off the ventilator from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

At 10:45 a.m. he tweeted, “Praise! Baylor made it through the entire hour without any assistance. Thank you for praying.”

The family wrote last week that the 17-year-old had begun initiating “some breathing.”

Baylor was transferred to a skilled nursing facility in Nashville on Friday. Prior to that, he had been receiving care at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since Oct. 23.
