NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Titans rookie Marcus Mariota continues to rack up awards for his performance Sunday in New Orleans.
Thursday he was named the FedEx Air Player of the Week after throwing for 371 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-28 overtime win over the Saints.
Mariota finished the game with a passer rating of 135.7. He and Tom Brady are the only two quarterbacks in the NFL to throw for four touchdowns in a game twice this season.
Nashville’s chapter of the American Red Cross will be awarded a $2,000 donation in Mariota’s name.
DeAngelo Williams of the Pittsburgh Steelers was also awarded the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his performance against the Oakland Raiders. He had 170 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers 38-35 win over Oakland.
