GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Grundy County man has been indicted for reckless homicide after a man he was hunting with was shot and killed.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began investigating a shooting death in a wooded-area that occurred in September in a wooded area near Northcutts Cove Road in Beersheba Springs.
During the course of the investigation, Robin Smartt Jr. was developed as a suspect in 44-year-old Chad Killian’s death.
Killian and Smartt had reportedly been hunting when the shooting occurred.
The TBI said Smartt was later developed as the person responsible for Killian’s death.
Smartt, 44, is charged with reckless homicide and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
Smartt was served with the capias on those charges and booked into the Grundy County jail on Wednesday.
