NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – It took former Titan Charlie Whitehurst only 24 hours to find a new NFL home.
Whitehurst was claimed by the AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts Thursday.
With Andrew Luck out for 2 to 6 weeks with kidney and abdominal injuries, Whitehurst will back-up another former Titans player, Matt Hasselbeck.
The 33-year old Whitehurst was the Titans third string quarterback. He was released Wednesday when the team activated running back David Cobb.
Whitehurst started five games for the Titans last season winning one.
He’s thrown for 2,131 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.
