NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two Vanderbilt University athletes have been named to the All-SEC team by their coaches.
Junior Damian Jones was named to the first team, while Riley LaChance was named to the second team.
The announcement was made Thursday morning.
Jones led the Commodores last year in point, averaging 14.5 per game, and rebounds with 6.5 per game.
LaChance led all freshman in scoring last year and averaged 12.3 point per game. He finished the 2014-2015 season WITH 429 points and 102 assists.
The coaches’ preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC head men’s basketball coaches.
Conference play is set to begin on Jan. 2 and the 2016 SEC Tournament will be held March 9-13 at the Bridgestone Arena.
