MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – Country music star Charlie Daniels was among dozens who supported our veterans in Mt. Juliet this morning.
It was a veterans breakfast hosted by the Mount Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club.
Fort Campbell soldiers from the Wounded Warrior program as well as Carolyn Grover, Mt. Juliet’s oldest female WWII vet, were honored.
News 2 asked Daniels what message he wanted to get across as the event’s featured speaker.
“I think people take America way too much for granted, especially the kids nowadays. I don’t think they have any idea as to what the, what’s gone into this nation,” Daniels said.
“The lives and the blood that’s been shed to make it that way, to keep that way,” he added.
