Man wanted for allegedly shooting Algood officer possibly spotted in Ky.

BURKESVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) – A possible sighting of the man accused of shooting a Putnam County officer over the weekend was reported in Burkesville, Ky. Thursday.

The mayor’s office told News 2 Floyd Cook was possibly spotted on Highway 61, near Interstate 65 south.

Authorities are asking for motorists to avoid the area.

Kentucky State Police told News 2 Cook reportedly went to a residence and asked for a ride Thursday but was denied.

The civilian reported the sighting to police.

A deputy sheriff reportedly encountered Cook before he fled into the woods.

Cook has been on the run since he allegedly shot an Algood officer during a traffic stop.

Two of Cook’s known-associates were arrested in Robertson County following an extensive manhunt Wednesday night.
