Crews extinguish massive warehouse fire near downtown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Nashville Fire Department battled huge flames and heavy smoke at a warehouse near downtown Nashville early Friday morning.

The fire first started just before 4 a.m. at the ACI Supply Co. Inc. building on First Avenue South and Lafayette Street.

Shortly after arriving on scene, firemen noticed the roof of the building was getting weaker and got everyone out of the building. Soon after that, the roof collapsed.

Firemen then used trucks to subdue he flames as best they could, taking a defensive stance on the fire.

Lafayette Street was closed at First Avenue South for several hours.

Crews remained on the scene until almost 8 a.m.
