Former Siegel Middle coach indicted on rape, sexual touching charges

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The former Siegel Middle School volleyball coach is facing both rape and “sexual touching” charges, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

Coach Brandon LaDuc, 40, is accused of having sexual conduct with a 16-year-old student at another school.

LaDuc was indicted on three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and two counts of sexual touching by an authoritie figure.

Detective Phil Brooks began investigating the coach last April after learning of the allegations.

Brooks interviewed the victim and learned LaDuc had sexual relations with and touched her on two difference occasions.

James Evans, Community Relations Coordinator for Rutherford County Schools, said, “Rutherford County Schools takes these situations very seriously and has cooperated fully with the sheriff’s office during its investigation. Mr. LaDuc was placed on unpaid suspension immediately once the investigation began, and he resigned from his job during the summer.”

LaDuc was booked into the Rutherford County jail and released on $50,000 bond. He’s due in court Oct. 19.
