NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Earhart Road in the Priest Lake area was closed for about an hour early Monday morning in Nashville after police found a car had run off the road and down a ravine.
Police on the scene told News 2 they received calls from neighbors in the area around 5 a.m., saying two men were knocking on doors and asking for help.
Officers searched the area and found a rental car out of Georgia about 20 to 30 feet down the ravine where it crashed into a tree.
Tracks were visible, showing where people had walked through yards going house-to-house before disappearing into a wooded area.
A short time later, a Wilson County deputy saw a man walking alongside a road, questioned him and realized he had been involved in the crash.
Metro police told News 2 the man was taken into custody and transported to the hospital to be treated for a head injury. They also said the man claimed there were two other people with him. Police are still searching for them.
It’s unclear if the man was the driver or a passenger in the car.
