Man arrested for fatal north Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Friday for shooting and killing a man and injuring another in Bordeaux.

Thaddeus Watkins, 36, was in his car on Tuesday when 33-year-old Eugene Jackson approached and shot at the vehicle.

The shot hit Watkins and the passenger in the front seat, 43-year-old Kevin Shelton. Shelton was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Shelton was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was last listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Watkins was targeted. A motive was not immediately released.

Jackson is charged with criminal homicide and attempted homicide. He is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bond and was previously convicted for aggravated robbery.
