NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Sixteen years after a security guard was shot outside of a now-closed Nashville movie theater, two men have been indicted for his death.
Brandon Brewer, 26, was shot in the head outside of the Regal Courtyard Cinema located on Lebanon Pike on Oct. 3, 1999 after he and the theater’s manager were confronted by two robbers now identified as Keith Henry and Derek Wyche.
Brewer died at the scene.
The theater’s manager, who was carrying three bank bags that the suspects got away with, was shot in the arm and chest.
She survived the shooting and is expected to be a witness against Henry and Wyche.
Both Henry and Wyche have been indicted on first degree murder charges and especially aggravated robbery.
Wyche was taken into custody in Newark, New Jersey, Tuesday. Police said he acknowledged his involvement in the deadly robbery.
Henry is currently serving a life sentence for murder in Georgia.
Both men are expected to be returned to Nashville in the near future.
