NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was killed and another was injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning in Bordeaux.

Police said the victim, identified as Thaddeus Watkins, was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car in the 3200 block Briarwick Drive when the gunman approached his vehicle and fired shots.

Watkins and his passenger, 43-year-old Kevin Shelton, were both struck.

Police said Watkins drove a short distance after the shooting before he crashed into a mailbox.

Watkins, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shelton was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was last listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Watkins was targeted. A motive was not immediately released.

Police said Watkins was one of two people inside a home with a serial robbery suspect in late September.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
