Preliminary hearing set for couple accused in violent east Nashville murder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A preliminary hearing has been set for the couple recently accused of killing another couple at an East Nashville apartment.

Both Whitney Gray, 21, and Brandon Griswold, 20, are both due in court Oct. 12.

According to an affidavit, the two have confessed to planning to kill Preston Claybrooks and Alexandra Grubbs at the Howe Garden Apartments on Greenwood Avenue.

Gray and Griswold are each charged with two counts of criminal homicide. They remain in the Metro jail.

Police discovered the victims’ bodies wrapped in bedspreads under boxes and debris in a utility closet in unit A-3.

The victims have two children together.
