Metro Public Works car stolen in downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A thief stole a Metro Nashville Public Works vehicle early Tuesday morning in downtown Nashville.

Police told News 2 it happened around 12:30 a.m. behind the Davidson County jail at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Gay Street.

A worker got out of the SUV to sweep the area when someone else jumped in and sped away, police said.

The vehicle is a white SUV and police do not have a suspect description.
