NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – It was a Sunday of praise and celebration at Cathedral of Praise Church in Nashville.
Rhuel Johnson, a 100-year-old member of the church, located on Clarksville Pike, was honored with a special visit from Nashville’s new mayor.
Mayor Megan Barry received a standing ovation from church members as she talked to Johnson, mentioning that she had never met someone who is 100 years old.
Bishop Jerry Maynard said “this shows exactly the type of person that Megan Barry is. She took time from her schedule to honor one individual. She is for all of Nashville.”
The event was one of many that Barry attended over the weekend, including two events against violence on Saturday.
