KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – A Knoxville couple received national attention after appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for already having all of their Christmas shopping done three months before the holiday.
In addition to having their shopping complete, Jerry and Shelia Robertson said they already have the gifts wrapped.
“We’ve got over 60 in the sunroom and behind us here. We’ve probably got about 30 to 40 gift cards already purchased,” they told Kimmel.
“What do you do on Black Friday? Just sit home and laugh?” Kimmel asked.
“We start [shopping] on December 26. I don’t like to go out to fight [the] crowds,” they said.
The Robertsons say they responded to a post on Kimmel’s Facebook page and were contacted by producers for Tuesday night’s show.
“We both grew up in poor families, to be honest,” explained Jerry Robinson, “And we didn’t have very big Christmases. So we spoiled our kids, and our grandkids with humongous Christmases. That’s what we do.”
The couple said they already have some Christmas decorations up at their home.
